Drug Testing at Oxford High School (WCBI Columbus)
OXFORD, Miss. (AP) - Oxford High School will innkeeper every orientation meeting Monday to tell parents about a just discovered drug testing policy.
Officials will begin taking random drug tests next month of students who have parking privileges or participate in more extracurricular activities.
Program coordinator Johnny Hill said the chance urine testing, which direction take place on campus during school hours, will be conducted approximately once a month.
The test will detect a number of recreational as well viewed like illicit drugs such as alcohol, THC, amphetamines, cocaine and steroids.
Hill says the only situation in which the test will not be conducted at random is admitting that there is reasonable suspicion that a student is using performance-enhancing drugs.
The school says the meeting is scheduled for 6:00 pm in the Auditorium.
